Purpose of this job is to provide and maintain an effective and professional planning service to projects. ONC in a technical * engineering discipline or NVQ in project planning. Fully conversant with and competent in project planning software (MS Project). 5 years experience of project planning across the various phases of project execution, i.e engineering, design, procurement and construction. Ability to perform the planning function across a number of minor projects.
Responsibilities: Preparation of critical path project programmes at a level of presentation, suitable for conveying an understanding of the project scope, targets and goals. Ensuring programmes are specific, comprehensive, understandable and realistic.
Scope of Activities: Ensure company procedures and work instructions are adhered to. Produce total project programmes, using work scopes which have been verified with lead engineers. Ensure programmes are structured inline with agreed. WBS, standard work codes and PEM guidelines. Ensure all programmed activities are logically linked. Ensure activity weightings are compliant with estimate. Produce resource and earned value trends. Perform programme status and progress updates, ensuring progress reported is a true reflection of work achieved. Qualify the role and scope of planning services on the project. Impact analysis of contract variations. Ensure planning services are executed within the budget. Nature of problems: Analyse effects of updates against baseline programme, report deviations and propose corrective actions to project manager. Comply with any secrecy agreements operating on the site. Close liaison with lead engineers, project manager and client to maintain the correct interpretation of programme analysis.
